Jennie J. Kramer, LCSW, Director
Jennie Kramer specializes in the treatment of Eating Disorders through the use of individual, group, family and/or psychotherapy and maintains practices in both NYC and in Scarsdale, NY. She also treats patients who do not have eating disorders for anxiety, depression and the struggles of everyday life. Ms. Kramer served as the Director of the Renfrew Centers for Eating Disorders in NYC and in NJ for 5 years and serves on their Advisory Board. Prior to entering this field, Ms. Kramer served as C.O.O. for Dr. Robert Atkins and was a healthcare management consultant to many prestigious clients in the fields of integrative/complementary/alternative medicine, nutrition and other fields of medicine and surgery.
Jennie received her M.S.W. from Fordham University, Summa Cum Laude and her BSW from Adelphi University Magna Cum Laude, LCSW. She also received additional training from Minuchin Family Therapy Seminars, REBT, DBT and CBT Courses & Landmark Education Leadership Institute.
Jennie enjoys membership and affiliations with organizations such as The National Eating Disorders Assoc. (NEDA), The Academy for Eating Disorders (AED), The Binge Eating Disorders Associations (BEDA), The American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA), The Westchester Group Psychotherapy Society (WGPS), The National Association of Social Work (NASW) and The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
Dr. Cheryl Appel, FAAP, MD - Medical Consultant
Dr. Appel is board certified Pediatrician specializing in adolescent and young adult medicine with special areas of expertise in eating disorders, school-based problems, learning disabilities, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse recovery. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Medical Director of the Andrus Children’s Center in Yonkers, NY. Dr. Appel has over 25 yrs of experience coordinating the special needs of children, adolescents and young adults with teams of other health professionals and school staffs. Dr. Appel has spoken widely in schools around Westchester about sexual behavior, high risk behavior, mental health issues and recognizing the early signs of mental disorders. She maintains a private practice in Scarsdale, NY and also volunteers with OneChildAfrica in Namibia Africa finding solutions for recovery from multiple complex trauma in the child and adult population.
Dr. Kathryn Moss, M.D. , Psychiatric Consultant
Dr. Moss is board certified in both psychiatry and in forensic psychiatry. She is on the faculty of Weill Cornell Medical College and is an attending physician at Weill Cornell Medical Center, Payne Whitney Westchester Division. Dr. Moss received her medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine and completed her psychiatry residency at NY Presbyterian Hospital and a fellowship at New York University Medical College.
Dr. Moss maintains a private practice in NYC and in Scarsdale. She is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and has particular expertise in treating trauma
as well as personality disorders and eating disorders. She has also served on The Renfrew Center for Eating Disorders Advisory Board.
Dawn Silverstein, Nutritional Consultant
Dawn Silverstein is a Certified Nutrition & Wellness Consultant with a private practice in Scarsdale, NY. Her work focuses on nutrition education and behavior modification strategies that establish positive lifestyle changes. Her collaborative work with teams of therapists, psychiatrists and physicians has produced consistently excellent results.
Laura Kleinman, LCSW, Individual, Family and Group Psychotherapist has both post masters fellowship and years of clinical experience in the treatment of Eating Disorders. Laura earned her MSW from Simmons College School of Social Work and has additional training in the treatment of Trauma through the VA, Eating Disorders at Allied Professional Treating Eating Disorders, DBT, CBT, Adlerian and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. Laura also has a background in Creative Arts and Experiential Therapies. She integrates interpersonal, creative, narrative, cognitive-behavioral, and dialectical behavior therapy techniques, tailored to fit the needs of each patient.
